He was inspired to introduce Pod to Leeds and eventually opened the Infinity Float on Easterly Road in Oakwood last year after Covid put the idea on the back burner.

The business features a number of floating tanks, lightless, soundless tanks filled with highly concentrated Epsom salt water heated to skin temperature. The idea is to lie in the water until you experience sensory deprivation and drift into a meditative state that rejuvenates your mind and body.

Mr Paige said:

“This is a space to escape from all the real day-to-day responsibilities.

He said the highly concentrated salt water creates a very thick solution “like the Dead Sea” that allows the body to float effortlessly.

After entering the water, the lid is closed for up to an hour and a half, Page said.

He said pods are beneficial not only for those with mental health issues such as anxiety and depression, but also for replenishing muscles and relieving stress and tension in the body.

Page explained. “All the pressure on the joint is removed.

“It’s great for arthritis and back pain, and salt is rich in magnesium, so it’s great for your muscles.”

He continues: It really helps me to cleanse my mind and focus on my creativity. Great ideas come to me when I’m there. ”

He said he feels that the effectiveness of pods often varies from person to person, depending on how well they turn the switch off.

Page said business has been growing steadily as more people hear about the pods, and is now offering a 30% discount off the first float through the end of the month.

The Infinity Float is open daily from 10am to 8pm. For more information or to book a session, please visit this website.
